David Dunlop’s Immense, Panoramic Landscapes Workshop – Live Online Saturday, January 21, 2023 – RECORDING
In this 2-hour Workshop, David will explore how to create Immense views of hills, mountains and skies from Europe to the American Southwest. The Workshop will include a discussion of historical and contemporary paintings and compositions and a 1.5 – 2 hr. Painting Demonstration. David examines and explores how artists from Rembrandt to Turner created landscapes that carry you from an intimate foreground into immense distance. You will learn how to use principles of disappearance, including linear, aerial and atmospheric perspective, optical shifts, color recession and more. David will demonstrate different techniques to create vivid textures and colors that recede into blended atmosphere. David will demonstrate contemporary techniques and materials and will paint in oil and incorporate different techniques of mixed media.
