David Dunlop’s Two-Hour Online Landscape Painting Workshop on Wednesday June 10th at 11amEST
June 10 @ 11:00 am - 1:00 pm
As we are all so aware, this is a difficult and uniquely surreal time and David and SimmonsArt wish all of you and your families safety and good health during this time. We are all exploring new ways to connect with one another and to continue to learn and encourage each other in a world that is so different.
David Dunlop’s Two-Hour Online Landscape Painting Workshop on Wednesday June 10th at 11amEST. This new monthly Two-hour class from David’s studio will begin with a discussion of landscape painting considerations and topics and an examination of relevant source materials, and David will then complete a painting demonstration. David will continue his investigations into landscape painting, focusing on varieties of landscape topics from close-ups to vistas, from water to land, from forests to cities. He will examine how these paintings evolved across the globe from ancient history to a contemporary perspective. We experiment with materials, subjects, techniques and palettes. He will explore painting nature from realism into semi-abstraction, examining patterns and textures in nature and how we can recreate their effects. We will study how the modes of biological perception shape our expressions. This class will not include a painting critique of class members’ paintings. If you would like more information about the classes, please click HERE.
Zoom video conferencing technology. We will be using the Zoom video conferencing technology, which also allows us to record the class and to send each class member a recording of the class so that you can watch any part of it later if you like. Not everything will work perfectly at first, but we will keep trying to improve our online experience. (You can use the free Zoom option and you will need to register at Zoom before the class. Click here for more information on how to register for Zoom.)
We will also try several different formats in the next few weeks, including webinars for a larger audience, and we are also going to post free videos as we proceed.
