Learn techniques and traditions of “Old Master” landscape painters from Rembrandt to Turner, Claude of Lorraine to the American Hudson River painters. There will be demonstrations of the Dutch 17th Century painters in oils; French Impressionists and their palette choices, brushstrokes, compositions and color theories; Hudson River painters will trace their European influences, drawing and design system. We will conclude with contemporary currents in landscape painting including new materials and media. There will be daily demonstrations in watercolor and oil daily followed by personal attention and counsel.
